Volunteer Vibes with Eva
“So being able to just have everybody help each other, yeah, it’s not really more of a one way thing. It’s sort of like a big spiderweb almost, that everybody is willing to help each other in any way, and some people might be able to help a little bit more.”
Eva, a remarkable 15-year-old, is a true inspiration. Her unwavering dedication to helping others is evident in her countless volunteer hours and her passion for making a difference. From a young age, she and her brother have been actively involved in fundraising for various charities, including Cancer Council NT, the Fred Hollows Foundation, and the Kangaroo Island Bushfire Relief Fund.
Despite facing challenges such as accelerated learning and navigating the complexities of age differences, Eva remains grounded in her determination to bring people together. Her experiences have shaped her perspective and fuelled her desire to become an ophthalmologist to help those in need, both locally and globally.
Eva's story is a testament to the power of youth and the importance of volunteering. She encourages young people to embrace opportunities to give back to their communities, no matter how small. Whether it's coaching a sports team, volunteering at a local animal shelter, or simply donating to a cause you care about, every act of kindness makes a difference.
Eva's passion for helping others is contagious. Her story serves as a reminder that we all have the power to make a positive impact on the world. Let's be inspired by her example and strive to create a more compassionate and equitable future.
